Job Summary
As a Sales Engineer for Kinaxis Planning One, you will play a critical role in driving the success of our sales efforts by providing technical expertise and solutions-oriented sales support. You will work closely with the sales team to understand customer needs, demonstrate the value of our Kinaxis Planning One solutions, and help secure new business by aligning our offerings with customer requirements. Your role will involve pre-sales activities, including product demonstrations, technical presentations, and working with customers to develop customized solutions that address their unique challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Expertise: Develop a deep understanding of Kinaxis Planning One products, including their features, capabilities, and competitive advantages. Stay up-to-date with the latest developments and trends in supply chain planning and optimization.
- Solution Design: Collaborate with the sales team to understand customer needs and design tailored solutions that address their specific supply chain challenges. This includes configuring product demonstrations, creating technical presentations, and drafting solution proposals.
- Pre-Sales Support: Serve as the technical lead in the sales process, working closely with potential customers to demonstrate the value of Kinaxis Planning One. Conduct product demos, webinars, and technical workshops to showcase the product’s capabilities.
- Customer Engagement: Build strong relationships with prospects and customers by understanding their business needs and challenges. Provide guidance on best practices and how Kinaxis Planning One can be leveraged to optimize their supply chain processes.
- RFP/RFI Responses: Lead the technical response to RFPs (Request for Proposals) and RFIs (Request for Information), ensuring that all customer requirements are accurately addressed and that our solutions are presented in the best possible light.
- Collaboration: Work closely with product management, development, and customer support teams to provide feedback on customer requirements, product enhancements, and potential areas for improvement. Act as a bridge between the customer and internal teams to ensure successful project delivery.
- Training & Enablement: Provide training and enablement sessions to internal teams and partners on Kinaxis Planning One products, helping them stay knowledgeable and effective in their roles.
- Post-Sales Transition: Assist in the smooth handover of customers to the implementation and support teams after a sale is closed, ensuring that all technical aspects of the solution are well understood and documented.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience in a sales engineering role, preferably within the supply chain, ERP, or planning software industry.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in supply chain planning software (experience with Kinaxis Planning One is highly desirable).
- Strong understanding of supply chain management processes and challenges.
- Experience with ERP systems and integrations is a plus.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to think creatively and strategically about customer needs.

Additionally, you will provide ongoing support, training, and optimization services to maximize the value of Workday Adaptive Planning for clients.

- Strong understanding of financial processes, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
- Proficiency in data analysis, modeling, and manipulation using tools such as Excel, SQL, or similar.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, client-facing environment.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Workday Adaptive Planning Certified Implementation Specialist) are a plus.
